AtlantiCare

AtlantiCare, in partnership with Babies “R” Us®, will host a ‘Mommy & Me’ Brunch Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at the Smithville Inn in Historic Smithville.

The family-friendly brunch will include story time, crafts with characters, toy demonstrations by Toy Market, and gift giveaways from Babies “R” Us. Magna Dias, M.D., medical director, CHOP Care Network at AtlantiCare and Jennifer Tioseco, M.D., neonatologist, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and medical director, ARMC’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), will share tips for raising happy, healthy children.
Proceeds of the event will benefit the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Roger B. Hansen Center for Childbirth’s Safe Sleep Program. The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program has recognized ARMC as a Gold Safe Sleep Champion for its commitment to using best practices and providing education about infant safe sleep.
Through the program, ARMC gives a Cribs for Kids® Graco® Pack ‘n Play® to any new parent who does not have a crib. Cribs for Kids® is a Pittsburgh-based organization that created The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program, and is dedicated to preventing infant, sleep-related deaths due to accidental suffocation.

In addition to being a Cribs for Kids® partner, ARMC was recognized for following the safe sleep guidelines the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends, and for providing training programs for parents, staff and the community. AtlantiCare also shares safe sleep information through its Childbirth classes (at ARMC Mainland Campus) and Baby Basics classes (at Babies “R” Us), and through other community events and at the bedside.

To register for the brunch, visit www.atlanticare.org/mommybrunch or call 609-407-2393. Registration fee is $45 for one adult/child combo and $25 per additional guest. Event registration is open through Friday, March 10.

Those unable to attend but interested in making a contribution can make a donation online at www.atlanticare.org/giving or by calling 609-407-2393.
