Englewood Hospital and Medical Center held its 9th Annual Heart & Soul Music Fest on February 17, 2017, celebrating Heart Health Month and African American heritage through music. Pictured, Teaneck resident Austin Powlis, a 92-year-old veteran, cardiac patient, and recipient of the WWII French Legion Medal of Honour and Heart & Soul Music Fest Community Leadership Award; his daughters, Annette Powlis and Denise Powlis; Eddie Hadden, board trustee, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center; Dennis Katechis, DO, cardiologist at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center; and veterans from the American Legion Post 58 in Englewood.

Music mogul, Leland Robinson, Sr., of Sugar Hill Records, was presented with The Legend Award by Board Trustee Thomas M. Jackson at the 9th Annual Heart & Soul Music Fest at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.
Englewood Hospital and Medical Center's 9th Annual Heart & Soul Music Fest on Feb. 17 brought 300+ people out to enjoy an evening of heart health education and entertainment in recognition of Heart Health Month and Black History Month. The event was created to encourage heart-smart lifestyle choices while celebrating African American heritage through music.

Two community leaders received awards at the event: WWII veteran and cardiac patient, Austin Powlis, of Teaneck, NJ; and First Family of Hip-Hop star and music mogul, Leland Robinson Sr., of Sugar Hill Records, founded in Englewood, NJ.
