The Helen Hayes Hospital Adapted Sports & Recreation Program will once again offer its exciting sled hockey program in conjunction with the New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team in early 2018. Free sled hockey training sessions will take place on January 25th and February 22nd from 6:15-9:00pm at Madison Square Garden Training Center—the New York Rangers’ training center in Greenburgh, NY.

Created as a joint effort of the New York Rangers and the Wheelchair Sports Federation, the New York Rangers Sled Hockey league provides adults and children with disabilities the opportunity to play ice hockey. The New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team competes in the Northeast Sled Hockey League wearing the coveted New York Rangers jersey. Team members will be on-hand to provide Helen Hayes Hospital Adapted Sports & Recreation participants with hands-on sled hockey instruction as well as the use of all safety pads and equipment.

Sled hockey sessions are open to participants of all levels and adapted equipment will be provided. Pre-registration is required by January 19th and February 16th, respectively. To register for sled hockey or for more information on the Adapted Sports & Recreation Program at Helen Hayes Hospital, contact the Adapted Sports & Recreation department at 845-786-4950.

The Adapted Sports & Recreation Program at Helen Hayes Hospital is a 4-season program that offers sports and recreation opportunities to individuals with disabilities of all skill levels.
