St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center held its Annual Employee Service Awards on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. The celebratory event, held at Stonebridge Country Club in Smithtown, honored employees who have reached milestone years of service at the Hospital and Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center, starting from 5 years of service to more than 45 years of service. Emergency Department Nurse Lorraine Belding, received the 45 year service award and was given a standing ovation for her devotion to the medical center.

St. Catherine’s Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Paul J. Rowland highlighted many of the medical center’s achievements—including the recent Baby-Friendly designation, the Healthcare Association of New York State’s 2017 Pinnacle Safety Award and the Bariatric Center of Excellence designation—to name a few. “We could not have achieved our success without the teamwork of dedicated staff—because of your commitment to our mission, respect, integrity, values, passion and excellence—you’ve shown we are doing the right thing for our patients and their families,” said Mr. Rowland. He continued, “We have 3,805 years of service that we are celebrating at this awards ceremony—congratulations and I hope you enjoy this celebration in honor of you.”
