Sue Furdon, MS, RN-C, CNS, NNP-BC, neonatal clinical nurse specialist/nurse practitioner, was honored for consistently demonstrating the power of mentoring, having distinguished herself as clinically and technically proficient, as an outstanding teacher and motivator and as willing to share her knowledge and experience with others. The award was announced recently at the 2017 NANN Annual Convention in Providence.

Employed at Albany Med since 1984, Furdon is a member of the nurse practitioner/physician assistant team that provides medical management to critically ill newborns at delivery, on transport from referral hospitals and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med. She supports the nursing and medical staff to advance the care of neonatal patients through guidance, mentorship and leadership.
