Albany Med Welcomes ENT Surgeon Dr. Jayde Steckowych

Jayde Steckowych, M.D., an ear, nose and throat surgeon, has joined Albany Medical Center’s Department of Surgery and has been appointed associate professor of surgery at Albany Medical College.

Board certified in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, Dr. Steckowych treats the full range of ENT conditions, including acid reflux, balance disorders, tinnitus, acute and chronic ear infections, nasal deformity, deviated septums, dysphagia and sleep apnea.

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Steckowych was an assistant attending at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and also New York-Presbyterian Medical Center for 24 years. She also served as director of the Division of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at The Allen Hospital, and as clinical director of Adult ENT Education at New York-Presbyterian Medical Center. Certified in health care informatics by Columbia University, she adopted an electronic medical record in 2000, digitally implementing health information for more than 10,000 patients in her private practice. She recently served as an attending physician at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey, and established her own private practice, Tri-County ENT, L.L.C., in 2000.

Dr. Steckowych completed an otolaryngology fellowship at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital in New York City and went on to work for WOMACK Army Hospital as an otolaryngology preceptor. She completed a residency in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Center, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Steckowych received her medical degree from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, and her undergraduate degree from Boston University. She also completed residencies in general surgery and internal medicine.

Dr. Steckowych will see patients at Albany Med’s Valatie office, located at 1301 River Street, Suite 101, in Valatie. She will perform surgeries at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. To make an appointment, patients should call (518) 262-5575 or (518) 264-2898.
