Story Number is : 121417102
Catholic Health Services

Catholic Health Services (CHS) presented its Living the Mission Award to Michele Staats, patient access representative, for exemplifying CHS’s mission and values. Nominated for her outstanding qualities, Staats was recently honored at the system’s Melville office.

“Michele is kind to her fellow employees, respectful and caring,” commented a colleague. “She will help anyone in need and is an inspiration to our entire department.” Another said, “No matter what she’s going through, she comes to work every day with a smile, a positive attitude and, most of all, lots of heart…she is beyond excellent.” Also, a co-worker stated, “Michele never speaks badly about anyone; she is a person you can confide in. She is an extraordinary individual committed to her job, family and friends.” In addition, she was described as “highly productive” and “always hard working and even takes on more.”

The patient account representative joined CHS’s Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in 1973, serving in various roles over the years and eventually transferring to CHS Services. A Babylon resident, Staats received an associate’s degree from Suffolk County Community College and went on to earn her bachelor’s in business and accounting at LIU C.W. Post.
