Lourdes Health System recently honored 218 employees at its annual Years of Service ceremony. The health system recognized employees based upon five-year intervals, beginning with 1971. Ceremonies were held at Lourdes’ Camden and Burlington campuses.

Eleven of the 218 employees honored have been with Lourdes for 40 or more years. Those 11 employees are: Kathleen Brasteter, Clifford Brunker, Marianne Constable, RN; Anne Dulberg, Ruth Goebel, Lorraine Johnson, RN; Mary Alice Klaus, RN, Sister Rosemarie Kolmer, Dr. Donald Orth, Sharon Repici, and Alice Williams.

“I am proud of the dedication Lourdes employees demonstrate each and every day,” said Alexander J. Hatala, President and Chief Executive Officer, Lourdes Health System. “We have a large number of employees who have worked at Lourdes for decades. It speaks volumes as to the level of commitment our employees have and their belief in our mission to serve patients with high-quality, compassionate care.”

Hundreds of people were on-hand to celebrate the contributions Lourdes employees have made. Each employee recognized received a service pin and gift, and Lourdes leaders personally thanked each employee for their years of service.

Staff also shared their stories and experiences of having worked at Lourdes through the years. Some of the comments from employees included:

- “Our team is great to work with. They are another family to me.”

- Lourdes helped me grow, personally and professionally.”

- “You won’t find our same kind of camaraderie elsewhere. We are really close and enjoy knowing that Lourdes is a good place to work.”

- “Lourdes is my hospital. What I love is that you feel included. Your being a person is valued in addition to what you do.”

- “There is an element to our mission, a steadfast commitment to care for all, especially for those most in need, that is our guiding principle. I’m happy to be a part of the Lourdes family.”

Hatala closed the ceremonies by noting how important each person’s role is, especially when it comes to healthcare. “Patients put their trust in us. Thank you for your gift of service, of giving. We stand on your shoulders and thank you for making Lourdes what it is.”
