In tribute to what would have been Audrey Hepburn’s 83rd birthday, the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at HackensackUMC is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House.

The Audrey Hepburn Children’s House is a state-designated Regional Diagnostic Center for Child Abuse and Neglect, which treats more than 7,000 children annually. The mission is to ensure the safety, health and well-being of infants, children and adolescents through assessment, intervention and prevention of child abuse and neglect. The professional staff, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and child-life specialists have clinical expertise in all areas of child maltreatment and provide comprehensive care for both the child and their family. A multidisciplinary approach to the investigation, diagnosis and treatment of child abuse is utilized through collaborations with community agencies that service child victims and their families.
