Six Students with Special Needs Graduate from High School
Story Number is : 062117105
PROVIDED
Matheny School

Six students with special needs will graduate from the Matheny School on Wednesday, June 21st. This is one of the biggest classes to graduate in recent years. This is no ordinary graduating class. Matheny students’ accomplishments have exceeded everyone’s expectations. Their parents, families, and friends are truly proud of their graduates and they all look forward to new beginnings after high school.

Sean Murphy, Matheny School principal, is proud of the students and what they have been able to achieve with their teachers, therapists, staff, and their families. He says, the graduation ceremony “celebrates the triumphs of students who all have a bright future. They have realized that they can be leaders and help others. Graduation is a milestone achievement and it’s our honor to share this moment with them.”

The keynote address will be delivered by Ms. Rachel Jablon. Rachel was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at a young age, which helped to shape her into the young woman she is today. She works at the NJ State Police Department as a dispatcher. Rachel is actively involved in the community and continuously supports great causes such as The Chiari-Syringomelia Foundation through a mile-long solo walk that has raised thousands of dollars for the foundation in the past five years. She is a great role model for Matheny graduates and will inspire them to continue their education and to live life to their fullest potential. Other speakers include the Mayor of Peapack-Gladstone, William Muller, who will welcome all graduates and their families.
