On the evening of Sunday, April 29, 2012 Hebrew Health Care’s Board of Trustees and the Celebrate Life Tribute Committee hosted a memorable and enjoyable event, Celebrate Life 2012. The event was sponsored by TD Bank and was held at the Hartford Marriott Downtown.
The entertainment for the evening was The Capitol Steps; a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Digging into the headlines of the day, The Capitol Steps create song parodies and skits which convey a special brand of satirical humor. The song parodies’ subjects ranged from President Obama and the Republican primaries to scandals that have rocked the nation through the headlines on every national newspaper.
The extended cocktail hour offered a buffet style meal, which included a variety of delectable foods. Happiness and laughter filled the ballroom as friends, families, employees, and board members all committed to the excellence of Hebrew Health Care mingled and bonded.
A total of $230,000 was raised from the event which provides support for HHC programs and services, many of which are not fully reimbursable. This includes our Life Enrichment programming, which recognizes the importance of our residents/patients remaining active through normal, everyday social interaction. Revenue from this event will help to make our residents’ later years full of life.
